Joining a statewide dance organization

I have found that there are a few states that have a statewide dance organization (NJ, OH, NY to name a few). What a great idea to bring dancers, dance teachers, dance students, etc together for workshops, performances, and networking opportunities.
If you are involved in a statewide organization for dance what kinds of activities have you participated in? What activities would you like the organization to offer?
